Steve has arrived in Beijing. Beckie & my mom have both talked to him. Steve says that the heat is the most unbearable he has ever been in, that said he said the Chinese people are incredibly nice & accommodating. He also said they are very tiny, he has to take a size XXXL in a tee shirt! The stories of the horrible pollution are true too, Steve was sitting out side of his hotel, he told Beckie he was staring directly at the sun & it was only as bright as the moon. Beckie told him to stop staring at the sun!MSNBC had this to say about the Fog/Smog:

I saw a few clips this morning & saw Lomong carrying the US Flag. I really liked the American Olympians outfits, I am excited to see the Canadians. Be sure to watch for Steve tonight at the Opening Ceremonies, it was already broadcast in Canada and Steve's mom said she saw his profile!

It was very fun to be able to talk to Steve today. He had just returned from the opening ceremonies and was really tired. We'll be watching tonight to see if we catch a glimpse of him.
Jess you will be happy to know that Steve bought a box set of the stuffed animal Olympic mascots for the baby. I guess there are 5 of them. He also found you something with the panda you like!
