Happy Father's Day Minch Dads!

Happy Father's Day to all of the super Minch Dads. Starting with Grandpa. Here is a recent photo of Grandpa with 2 of his kids and 4 grandkids + great grandson in the oven :)

And an oldie but goodie of Grandpa when he first became a Grandpa! Grandpa, you are the best grandpa & dad and from stories Aunt Karen and my Dad have told me, a wonderful Uncle too. We all love you so much. (I am expecting some great comments about all the great hair dos in this picture)

Beckie and I are so lucky to have a wonderful dad, who is also the best Poppy to Luke, and a really fun Uncle! We love you Dad!

Being an Uncle is an important job, the Minch kids are lucky to have really great ones. Uncle Mike is always so fun & easy to talk to, he is the best dad to Kristin and Kaitlin. Love you Uncle Mike!

Uncle Robert has always been so fun, Beckie and I loved visiting him & Aunt Alice when we were kids. He is loving to his own kids. We are so lucky to have so many great dads in our family. We love you all and Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the Minch Dads

Happy Father's Day to all the Minch Dads! Just like the Minch Moms, we are so lucky to have such great men in our family. Our Minch Dads are pretty special and have taught us all so many great lessons. I was bragging to Matt the other day about how awesome Grandpa Minch is. Grandpa has always been ahead of the times. Grandpa was the first person I ever knew that drove a hybrid car and the only Grandpa I know that would eat sushi. He has always been accepting of other people, traveled and appreciated the finer things. He is so knowledgeable, he takes care of his body & mind. Grandpa knows when it is time to be serious and time to have fun! Most importantly he loves and supports his family. We can all learn from Grandpa that no matter how old you are, you can try new things and still learn.

Steve, Robert and Mike are all great dads like Grandpa. They all put their families first and take great care of us. They teach us new things and show us how to love each other. While they all work hard, they all appreciate a good time. I think that is such an important trait to learn from them. They love spending time with their wives, and like my dad said part of being a good dad is being a good husband.

Happy Birthday Uncle Robert

Happy Birthday Uncle Robert! You were always the fun Uncle :) I remember when we were kids visiting you in Manhattan Beach, you had stuffed animals for us to play with and you would tell us stories about them. Beckie and I loved when you and Aunt Alice would visit us in Texas, what other Uncle would walk his nieces to the park at the school on a Saturday and help us look for 4-leaf clovers.
I have always loved your quiet disposition, I loved the time I got to ride with you in your truck to Wendover. We talked about all the music and books we like. I remember feeling like you really thought I was an equal you could talk with. It made me feel really smart.
I always envied that you were such a good cook like Grandma, it is one of the reason's I wanted to be a good cook. I loved when you made dinner how everyone was so excited about how great it was.
One of my favorite memories of you are in Grandma & Grandpa's pool. It was so fun as kids to watch our dad and uncles having 'Diving Olympics'! I was telling Matt about that when we got our pool, it hasn't taken off at our house just yet, maybe next summer :)

The Minch Blog Anniversary

One year ago today, we started the Minches blog. Looking back on one year, I think you can definitely say being a Minch is super! We started with a post on Beckie's 3 month baby bump and now we have Luke. This past year we all met up in Cozumel and it was the first time ever that all the Minch cousins were together. It has been so much fun posting pictures and memories on every one's birthdays and anniversaries and just celebrating everyday life. I feel so lucky everyday to be a part of this family. Happy Anniversary Alice and Robert

Happy Anniversary Alice and Robert! Alice and Robert have been madly in love for over 25 years. They were married in their neighbor's back yard in Manhattan Beach 24 years ago today.
Beckie and I were very excited to be flower girls. We were also very excited about Aunt Alice's awesome dress, hat and gloves. We thought she was as cool as Madonna!
The reception was a huge party! Everyone was dancing and having a ball.
Happy Anniversary Aunt Alice and Uncle Robert, we hope you celebrate 24 more!

Happy Birthday Uncle Robert! Beckie and I have always thought you were the coolest. We loved that you were passionate about music, lived with Surfer Dudes, helped us dig for "tickle crabs" and always gave hugs :) Uncle Robert could also be counted on to help me look for a four-leafed clover in a field when I was 7 and talk about our favorite books on a road trip to Wendover when I was 25.
