Yesterday was the Indy 500.

My mom sent me this email last night:

Jes,

Today is the Indianapolis 500. I can remember growing up Grandpa listening to the race on the radio, sometimes sitting out in our little side yard. The Lily of the Valley that my mom planted would be blooming. When the Indy pre race show came on today I thought we could remember Grandpa & how much he enjoyed the race at the Brickyard, with Lukey in his racing suit with his car.

My mom's Lily of the Valley is in bloom in her side yard & I even have a little bouquet of it in my kitchen. Mom, I do think that Grandpa would have loved Luke's racing suit & car. I also think he would have Luke watching his "driving lessons" at brickyard, like Beckie and I did :)

I found some old racing pictures of my Grandpa I thought I would post too. I always loved this one when I was a kid. Is there a racing prize better than your own pig?

Lady Bug Room

I had to show some of Liese's new baby room pictures because I think it is just adorable. Ryan hand painted all the lady bugs on the wall...he is SO artistic!

The closet organizers are homemade by Liese too.

This is Ava's room but I think it is just as cute so I got a pic of it too! Ryan painted all those flowers on the wall.

The Best Cupcake in Denver

Liese is due in just 4 weeks so we decided to take her on the tour for the best cupcake in Denver! It was so much fun...just the girls for an ENTIRE day of cupcakes! I am so excited to meet my niece...I can't wait to see her!

At each stop we gave her a gift with lady bugs on it...that is the ADORABLE theme for her baby room

First stop...C'est Chic Cupcakes...BEST Key lime cupcake ever! It is in the top left of that box. We also go a blueberry lemon, white chocolate raspberry and a double chocolate fudge

Here is the whole group at Lola Sugar Rush. When you guys come and visit I am definitely taking you there! It is a cute shop full of jars of candy!

Mmm...stop #3 was at The Big Fat Cupcake. Here is Elle about to dig in on the chocolate cupcake with caramel frosting...topped with pretzels!

Here is the entire selection at BFC...hard to choose which one to get!

We found the Denver Cupcake Truck! It is a truck that parks all over Denver and sells cupcakes instead of ice cream :)

We then headed over to "The Shoppe"

Next was Gateaux ... amazing cookies and cakes!

Notice the lady bug cream puff...all with Liese's theme!

Once we got home we had to seperate ALL the cupcakes! I ended up taking 6 home...24 hours later they are all gone :)

Driving around we saw a cupcake cloud! Can you see it?!?!

Last stop was Happy Cakes...DELICIOUS!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Minch Moms! We are all so lucky to have such great moms in our family. Moms are the glue of families and ours keep us all close. Moms are always there to support us. Here is Grandma Minch at the hospital after Beckie was born. My mom always said that Grandma treated her like a daughter, not a daughter in law.

I had to post one more picture. A friend of mine was looking at this picture (it is hanging in our hall way) and she said to me, so you got your gorgeous cheek bones from your grandma. I was very flattered :)

Happy Birthday Clara! We are so happy that Grandpa has you, someone he can enjoy the little things in life with.
And the big celebrations in life, like being a great grandparent.


Clara, you have such an appreciation for things being done nicely. I love at your house that if we have a snack of cheese and crackers you arrange them so perfectly on a platter, I do this too after I learn it from you.
You always have fun with us on vacations, and we enjoy your company.



You take such wonderful care of your mom, I am sure she is very proud of you.
