Almost Vacation Time

I changed the background on the blog to reflect my excitement for our Thanksgiving vacation! Matt and I can not wait to see everyone! Here are a few pictures from our house that I wanted to show everyone. This is Penny pretending she is on the Minch Family Vacation. See how good she is at lounging. She would fit right in with all the other girls. That is my tomato plant next to her, I have one that is almost ripe!
Here is Wally, he could hang with the guys (except Matt who also likes to lounge). Wally was taking a break from patrolling the pool when I took this.
Matt and I have had an empty flower bed in the front yard, since we moved in. We tried this summer to plant some Vincas, but some crazy parasitic weed that looked like spaghetti attacked and killed them. (I told Matt it was like a horror movie and we were going to wake up with the plant on us!) Well Matt decided he would not be defeated by the crazy spaghetti plant, so he worked his butt off. He dug out a lot of the dirt, then added new dirt, re-did the sprinklers twice, treated the soil, planted new plants and added some mulch. So far no spaghetti and the planter is gorgeous! We have Icelandic Poppies, Vinca, Dianthus, Stock (which smells incredible at sunset), pansies and a Black Mission Fig in the center.
I took this picture one evening last week, I was driving home and the sunset as my mom would say, Looked like Raspberry Sherbet. I was happy I got home in time to snap this picture of our neighbor's palm tree.
We will see most of you Tuesday! Can hardly wait. Grandpa, Clara, Aunt Alice, Uncle Rob, Cassidy, Taylor & Alec, We are so sad that you won't make the trip. We will miss you all and hope to see you soon. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! We love you.
